Homogenization of Attractors to Ginzburg-Landau Equations in Media with Locally Periodic Obstacles: Critical Case

In this paper the Ginzburg-Landau equation is considered in locally periodic porous medium, with rapidly oscillating terms in the equation and boundary conditions. It is proved that the trajectory attractors of this equation converge in a weak sense to the trajectory attractors of the limit Ginzburg-Landau equation with an additional potential term.

A novel immune evasion strategy of candida albicans: proteolytic cleavage of a salivary antimicrobial peptide.

Oropharyngeal candidiasis is an opportunistic infection considered to be a harbinger of AIDS.The etiologic agent Candida albicans is a fungal species commonly colonizing human mucosal surfaces. However, under conditions of immune dysfunction, colonizing C.albicans can become an opportunistic pathogen causing superficial or even life-threatening infe

Escherichia coli associated hematogenous sternoclavicular joint osteomyelitis: A rare condition with a rare causative pathogen

Escherichia coli is the most common microorganism that causes urinary tract infections (UTIs), including acute prostatitis. However, E.coli osteomyelitis, especially ones that involve the sternoclavicular joint, are rare hematogenous complications. We present a case of an immunocompetent man who presented with Binocular Harness symptoms of UTI and ri

Spotting hidden sectors with Higgs binoculars

Abstract We explore signals of new physics with two Higgs bosons and large missing transverse energy at the LHC.Such a signature is characteristic of models for dark matter or other secluded particles that couple to the standard model through an extended scalar sector. Our goal is to provide search strategies and an interpretation framework for this
